Since Formula One teams are known to have high costs, financing is the main factor that determines the success or failure of a new team. In the past, there have often been teams that failed for financial reasons. Therefore, it is not surprising that Pollock did not want to disclose any further details about the financing of the project. That said, the details were quite intriguing, it could affect the entire sports racing industry, download bet app if you are deeply interested in F1
However, the goal of employing more women in Formula 1 is a laudable and important undertaking. Indeed, to date, women have been severely underrepresented in the premier class of motorsport. The last woman to take part in a Formula 1 race was former test driver Susie Wolff in 2015, and since then there have been no female drivers in Formula 1. Off the track, too, there are very few women in leading positions within the teams.
So the ‘Formula Equal’ project could help change that and give more women a chance to establish themselves in motorsport. Whether the team will actually start remains to be seen. But the mere fact that another potential investor is interested in Formula 1 and committed to advancing gender equality in motorsport is a positive signal.
In addition to the goal of gender balance, the team should also provide an opportunity for women in motorsport. The long-term goal is to have a driver pairing with one person of each gender. To achieve this, Pollock wants to build up, as there are not enough women training at the Formula 1 level at the moment.
The earliest the team could enter the premier class would be the 2026 Formula One season, but only if it is eligible to compete. The FIA opened an application process in February for those interested in entering F1, with teams having until April 30 to officially submit their applications. A decision on who will make the entry is to be made by June 30.
The lack of women in Formula 1 has long been an issue. That makes it all the more gratifying that there are women who face up to this industry despite the challenges and hurdles. One example is Tatiana Calderón, a Colombian racing driver who is currently a test driver for the Alfa Romeo Racing Team in Formula 1. She is also the first woman to have competed in the GP3 series and Formula 2. Calderón has set her sights on becoming the first female Formula 1 driver since 2015 and has already made great progress. She is proof that women can be just as successful as men in motorsport. Hopefully Craig Pollock’s ‘Formula Equal’ project will help even more women succeed in motorsport in the future.
