The popular revolts in Egypt and Tunisia have brought Hamas back to life, the French news agency AFP quoted the group's political chief Khaled Meshal as saying on Sunday, adding that Hamas and Fatah must join forces in a jihad against Israel.

Libyan rebels said they had shot down a helicopter during battles with forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi in eastern Libya on Sunday.
Three rebel fighters speaking at the eastern rebel-held port of Ras Lanuf said they had seen the helicopter fall into the sea. Further details were not immediately available.
